Olivia and Will’s engagement session was the kind of day you wish you could bottle up and keep forever—bright, warm, and completely effortless. We started at Fairfield University, where the classic architecture and soft stone tones created the perfect backdrop for a timeless, romantic feel. From quiet moments on the steps to playful, candid laughter in between poses, it felt less like a photoshoot and more like spending the afternoon with two people completely at ease with each other.

Even with direct, midday sun, this session is such a perfect example of how beautiful light can be when you embrace it. Instead of shying away from it, we leaned into the brightness—letting it highlight their connection and bring out those warm, glowing tones that feel like summer.

After campus, we headed to Penfield Beach, and the vibe shifted in the best way. Shoes off, wind in their hair, and a whole lot of laughter. The beach always brings a sense of movement and freedom to a session, and Olivia and Will fully embraced it. One thing I always tell my couples: expect the wind and treat it as part of your story. The way it catches your hair, your clothes, the little spontaneous moments it creates—that’s where the magic is.

Some of my favorite moments from the beach were the in-between ones—the run toward the water, the quick spins, the laughter that happens right after you think the camera isn’t on you. Those are the moments that make your photos feel like you.
